Biff Alperson:
A recent college graduate who, after traveling around the world, still has no clue what to do with his life. He has very limited motivation beyond playing videogames and surfing the internet, and generally considers himself to be a shiftless loser. With the exception of his brother Clyde, his family does not share this sentiment, a fact that baffles Biff to no end.
Lacking anything truly profound to do at the moment, Biff has returned to his home town of Moron County to help Nina, a friend of his from college, in her search for the Obsidian Moogle, a rare toy inspired by the Final Fantasy game series, potentially worth thousands of dollars. In order to fund this search, as well as the surfing of internet and purchase of videogames, he has recently taken a job in Karter's Lab as a lab technician. |

Nina Fristrom:
Another recent graduate who, having flunked out of law school, is now trying to make ends meet as a professional toy collector, supplemented with whatever odd jobs she can get with a bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies. Unlike the relatively laid back Biff, Nina is very ambitious and driven. She can also be kind of egotistical, which makes it difficult for her to deal with people.
Most recently, Nina has traveled with Biff to his home town of Moron County in hopes of tracking down the Obsidian Moogle. In order to fool his parents, who are wary about geek culture, Biff claimed that he is home looking for work, and that Nina is his fiancé. Nina is understandably less than pleased with this arrangement.

Clyde Alperson:
Biff’s younger brother, with whom he shares an intense case of sibling rivalry. Clyde is somewhat jealous of the attention Biff receives from the family, and these feelings have intensified since his brother’s return. Antagonistic feelings toward his brother aside, Clyde is very rational and intelligent for his age, and is usually the voice of reason in any given situation. He is also seldom seen without his pet turtle Scooty.
Currently, Clyde is the only other person that is aware of the false nature of Biff and Nina’s engagement. He has decided to use this information to blackmail Biff and Nina into doing favors for him at any given time. He also works in Karter's Lab as a technician along with his brother.

Booker Alperson:
Biff and Clyde’s younger brother. Biff actually forgot that Booker existed for most of his college career, due to his young age and relative incoherence when Biff left. Booker has an active imagination, a hyperactive nature, and a tendency to tackle people. |

Norm Alperson:
Booker, Clyde. and Biff’s father. Norm makes a living as a journalist and independent film maker. Unlike most balding, overweight fathers in cartoons, Norm is extremely quick-witted and is able to diffuse just about any unpleasant situation with a silver tongue and a calm demeanor. |

Joyce Alperson:
Loving mother of the Alperson household. Works as an aide to the Mayor of Moron County. She is extremely protective of her children, particularly Booker, and often goes overboard when concerned about their welfare. This manifests itself as an aversion to geek culture, as she fears the long term affects that videogames, comics, and the like will have on her sons. |

Scooty the Turtle:
Clyde’s pet turtle. Scooty is extremely intelligent and physically agile for a turtle, but can only speak in gibberish consisting chiefly of the syllable “Dub.” While Scooty shares Clyde’s contempt for Biff, he has taken a shine to Nina, most likely due to Nina’s discovery that Scooty is ticklish. He can also fly a tiny airplane. |
Alloysious Karter:
A supernaturally brilliant child scientist who resides in Moron County. Karter received an honorary degree from MIT at the tender age of five, and was issued a government grant to operate his own research lab in the desolate area of his choice. He has since set up shop in Moron County, where he has in four short years uncovered the secrets behind interdimensional travel, expanding and shrinking matter, time travel, cloning, and creating the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Of these, the peanut butter and jelly sandwich is his proudest achievement.
Despite his accomplishments, the fact that Karter is a nine year old child prevents him from being taken seriously as a scientist. As a result, Karter is often forced to hire other children, such as Clyde and Fred, as well as social misfits like Biff, Bobbes, and Francis, to assist him with his work.
Fred Mudhart:
Clyde’s best friend and fellow “employee” at Karter’s Lab. Due to his accident-prone nature, and perhaps more due to the great personal amusement he gets from watching things dissolve in acid, Fred is responsible for most of the accidents that occur in the lab. Regardless, Fred is kept around the lab thanks to his remarkable computer skills and his willingness to work for free.
Francis:
An extremely sophisticated robot built by Cartoon Billy a long time ago to take over the world, Francis has since then abandoned his master and now works with Clyde and his friends at Karter’s Lab. Primarily designed as a combat drone, Francis has access to a multitude of weapons hidden within his person, which he can activate by switching to “battle mode,” wherein his eyes glow red and his arm transforms into a high powered plasma cannon. He also has anger problems.

Bobbes:
A blue anthropomorphic rabbit currently living in Biff and Nina’s attic. Bobbes is something of an enigma to his friends, and his past before meeting the Alperson family is a mystery to everyone, including himself. Bobbes is optimistically described by his closest friends as “special.” |

Cartoon Billy:
An incompetent supervillain out to destroy Biff and Clyde, and, if he has time, take over the world. Billy has had a vendetta against Biff ever since he first foiled his evil schemes as a young child. This vendetta had eventually evolved into almost weekly battles between Biff and Billy, of which Biff was always the victor.
Billy mysteriously vanished after Biff left for college. Due to the climactic nature of their battle on the night of Biff’s high school graduation, Biff assumed Billy had been killed. However, as he soon discovered, Billy had merely moved on to his little brother Clyde. Now that Biff has returned, Billy has vowed to destroy them both. Thankfully, he is still completely ineffectual as a villain. |

Kiff:
Billy’s hapless, ever-suffering hunchbacked minion. Kiff is clearly more intelligent than Billy, and is often the only reason Billy survives when the majority of his schemes fail catastrophically. Despite the cruel treatment he often receives at his hands, Kiff is relentlessly loyal to Billy, and follows along with even the most far fetched of his schemes, albeit often under protest. |
Carl Palmer:
One of Biff’s roommates in college. After graduation, along with fellow Naobi University alums Chris and Steve, Carl joined the secret paranormal investigations branch of NASA, cutting off all ties to the outside world in the process. Though unprofessional and generally something of a carefree womanizer, Carl has quickly climbed the ranks, becoming one of NASA’s most promising agents. His preferred weapons in the field are a set of assorted swords and daggers that he keeps on his person at almost all times.
Most recently, Carl has been reassigned to Moron County to hunt down Agent Connor, a renegade agent who poses a threat to national security. Being unable to predict her precise whereabouts or goals, Carl is to keep surveillance on Connor’s last known unofficial contact- Biff.

Steve Garcia:
Another of Biff’s friends that has joined NASA alongside Carl and Chris. Currently suspended for unleashing a giant mutated Alex Trebek on Canada, Steve spends most of his time watching Scrubs reruns with Chris, waiting for NASA to give him another chance. |

Chris Haynes:
Biff’s other college roommate, who, along with Steve and Carl, has also joined NASA. Like Steve, Chris is also currently suspended for his involvement in what is now being classified as “the Alex Trebek incident.” Being of a professional mindset, Chris is not taking his suspension nearly as well as Steve is, and is eagerly awaiting a new mission. |

The Boss
Mysterious head of NASA, and Earth’s representative in the League of United Planets. Spends most if not all of his time in what is referred to amongst NASA employees as “The Scary Blue Room,” a dark, shadowy place where the Boss appears to have access to surveillance feeds everywhere in the world. Although NASA’s primary goal is protecting Earth from alien and paranormal activity, the Boss encourages unorthodox and even brutal tactics from his agents, and often jokes that NASA’s true goal is global domination. It is possible, nay, likely that he has his own sinister agenda. |
